PRAY ALWAYS
The first thing that most of us chalk off our to-do list when things get busy is prayer. But this should not be so!
Prayer shouldn’t be something that makes way on our to-do list, in fact, it shouldn’t even be on our to-do list.
The Bible admonishes us in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that we “pray without ceasing”.
Most times we have ridiculous assumptions regarding how much time we will spend in prayer.
Those who are always busy typically prefer to get a great deal “done.” So we often set objectives that are off the mark with what we are practically ready to do.
To be plain and simple, a lot of people expect that if they’re not praying for an hour daily, it is not justified, despite any benefit.
Or, on the other hand, they expect that since they are not praying every day there’s no point. “Why even trouble?” they think.
The first thing you need to do is to be sensitive. Start with ten minutes in the dawn of the day or at dusk.
Pray Always – No Excuse Is Good Enough
I don’t think that is too much to spare for the One who creates the Universe! It needn’t be anything over that, in any case.
Let’s consider a personal relationship as an instance. Assuming a sibling you haven’t heard from in a long while called and wants to spend quality time with you, wouldn’t you love that?
Consider God welcoming your prayer like that. God will appreciate those minutes.
There’s no correct or better or more right approach to pray. Whatever works best for you is just enough. All you need is to be able to incorporate prayer into your busy life.
A busy schedule can squeeze out prayer out of your life. Some of us want to incorporate prayer time into our busy lifestyle, but we find out that we hardly have enough space for that in our to-do list.
We want to set up a time to be with God, but most times, we fail at arriving at such time.
Pray always. We must realize that we do not need a special place or time to be with God. He is everywhere.
“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, watching the evil and the good.” (Proverbs 15:3)
He’s promised to always be with us,
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you.” (Isaiah 43:2)
You need to consider to pray always. Can you see that you don’t need to be at a specific place or set an alarm for a particular time before you can access His presence?
His presence is ever with us, we just need to access it through prayer. The only thing required is to have the right mind and attitude.
“Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall in his holy place? He that hath a clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his souk unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.” (Psalms 24:3-4)
Many of us ride public transport or drive to work every day. You can transform that quiet time on the bus or in your car to a prayer time. It will help you calm your mind on a busy road or under heavy traffic.
You can also pray as you do that walk around in your neighborhood or during your workout.
The benefit of growing and connecting with Him is always there and this helps you grow deeper with Him.
Everyone has at least one waiting time in a day. Whether when you are waiting for the doctor, at your boss’ door, or when you are waiting for your children at the bus stop.
You can make use of those times to communicate with God in prayer. Prayer God doesn’t have to be anything formal.
Pray Always: Some Uncommon Places of Prayer
For those of us who always have
housework, those with loads of tasks that require just your hands. You can make use of those times when you are doing your laundry, vacuuming, cooking, and mowing to communicate with God.
Another free time we always have in our hands is our bathroom breaks. It might sound a little gross. But why not take that time to ask for something or thank Him for He has done for you.
If you take advantage of these moments, trust me, your prayer life would improve drastically. Pray always. Do not waste those moments.
Do not be in the habit of saying I don’t have enough free time on my hands to pray. No! Everyone showers right? Some even love the long one. That is another opportunity and time to pour out your heart to Him.
All these rest on one sole requirement – give your life to Christ. It won’t matter if you pray or how much time you took to pray, if you are connected to God, your prayers won’t ascend to heaven.
The only way to subscribe to this connection is through Christ,
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
